Here Are the Best Ways to Remove Makeup

We all know that it’s bad to sleep in our makeup. Sleeping in our makeup causes clogged pores, pimples, and premature aging. All of which, let’s face it, we do not want. It’s important to remember that removing makeup from the skin and cleansing is not the same thing.

There are so many different skincare products on the shelves today that it’s sometimes difficult to decide which brand to try. From cleansers and removers for oily skin or dry skin, and anti-aging potions, the options are literally endless. Let’s not forget the super cute and colorful packaging!

However, many of these products contain irritating chemicals that can be harsh on the skin. Nobody has time for that!

Cleansing With Makeup Remover

Let’s begin with some basics. Makeup remover is formulated to dissolve heavy and pigmented makeup. This formulation is one of the main differences between removers and cleansers. Removers are great for dissolving full-face and eye makeup, and waterproof makeup.

For an optional deep cleanse, use a makeup remover first, then cleanse with your favorite facial cleansing product and follow with your toner, serums, and moisturizer. Makeup remover is not necessary. A cleanser will work just fine by itself.

Removing Makeup With Cleansers

Ingredients and formulas are key to providing the proper cleansing of your skin. Make sure you read the labels to determine which one is right for your skin type (oily, dry, or combo).

Cleansers are typically designed with your skin type in mind. They are formulated to care for and cleanse the skin.

Once you have applied your cleanser to damp skin, work it into a lather and allow it to penetrate your skin for a few seconds before removing it. When you’re ready, grab your cotton cloth and gently make a few passes over the skin to remove the makeup residue. Continue wiping until all remaining makeup is gone.

Follow with your toner, serums, and moisturizer.

We recommend using our soft cotton pad or cloth to fully eliminate residue while you’re removing your makeup. This allows for an amount of exfoliation to occur, which removes dead skin cells, leaving a fresh glow behind.

Cleansing Wipes and Pads

Cotton wipes and pads are essential for helping to remove stubborn makeup. Make sure that the cloth you use is gentle.

Glamnetic Cotton Candy Cloths and Pads are made of microfibers that are 100 times thinner than human hair. This allows the skin and pores to get super clean. Cotton Candy Cloths are named cotton candy for their super smooth, soft feel. So sweet!

These makeup remover cloths are suitable for all skin types, and they don’t contain harsh chemicals.

One side of the cloth is designed for cleansing and the other side is for exfoliating. This assures a squeaky clean every time.

Because these cloths are reusable for up to three to six months, each four-pack of cloths and ten-pack of pads come with a zippered wash bag so you can toss them into the washing machine for a quick clean.

Removing Eye Makeup

Eye makeup can be tricky to remove at times due to highly pigmented metallics and glitter. This can be especially true if your makeup is waterproof or if you have sensitive eyes. Choosing the proper eye makeup remover is just as important as choosing the makeup remover for your face.

The skin around your eyes is very thin and sensitive. It is important to be extra gentle while cleansing the makeup from around the eye areas. Make sure you’re using a soft cotton pad during the removal process.

Ideally, choose a makeup remover that is fragrance-free. Fragrance contains chemicals that can be harsh on the delicate eye area.

Cleansing Eye Makeup Remover Oil Vs. Cleansing Eye Water

Eye makeup removing oil is fantastic for removing waterproof and heavy eye makeup. Gently work the oil in circular motions around your eyes and swipe downwards to remove the makeup.

Cleansing makeup removing water is better for light eye makeup, such as that cute cat eye you created with liquid liner.

Cleansing water is generally better for sensitive eyes. Apply the water to a cotton pad and swipe across the eye to remove your eye makeup.

Try not to pass twice using the same area of the cotton. This will cause makeup smearing and redistribution. Remember, we are removing makeup, not putting it back on.

Follow eye makeup remover with a mild facial cleanser to remove any excess remnants of your makeup.

Also, please remember that exfoliants of any kind need to stay away from the eye area because it can be too abrasive. This skin needs to be treated with gentle loving care.
